If you love something, you want more of it. 

This simple insight was essential for Tourism Kamloops multi-season campaign done by Here Be Monsters to stand out from the Whistlers and Banffs of the world. The insight, combined with the locals’ nickname for their hometown, all came together in a project we called Welcome to The ‘Loops.

Our creative idea was to encourage loops of all kinds: more skiing or mountain bikikng laps, more tubing runs or paddleboard sessions, more seconds of dinner or rounds of wine, and more encores at concerts.

And to really express this idea, we let social media do what it does best, loop our videos. The twist was that we changed the headline as the action repeated over and over.

But the repeating nature of the campaign wasn’t just for kicks. It reinforced three major factors in any destination marketing challenge: value, variety of activities and name recognition.

The digital and social ads demonstrated just how much further your money goes and how many more things you can do when you travel to a hospitable place like Kamloops. And really, only a place called Kamloops could invite you to do more of what you love by saying Welcome to The ‘Loops.
